Good news! Deadiquette-the premiere book on funeral etiquette-has arrived. You may be thinking "Do I really need instructions on funeral etiquette? Isn't it as simple as pretending to be sad and washing my hands after touching the corpse?" The short answer is yes (and yes). The long answer is Deadiquette. This book contains all of the answers to all of the questions all of us have concerning funeral behavior. For example, did you know * it is OK to place flowers (and peanut butter) on the grave, even if the deceased was allergic to bees (and peanut butter) * "dead as a doornail" is a phrase that should only be used by professional carpenters (like Jesus) * it is considered rude to resurrect a body after the funeral bill has been settled Join David Scott, author of millions of best-selling etiquette books, as he politely (he is an etiquette expert, after all) shares his hard-earned funeral knowledge. He'll teach you what to say, what to wear, how to get out of going to boring funerals, and how to crash the sexy ones. You'll learn about terrible funeral food, diet techniques (for the living), wakes, religious traditions, options for the afterlife, and new digital methods of expressing sorrow. Read this book to learn more deadiquette. Do it now, or at least before your next funeral. Thanks. And terribly sorry for your loss.

Deadiquette A Practical Guide to Funeral Etiquette David Scott 9781453838716 Books Reviews

The description should be a little more clear about this book being satirical and funny. I'm a mortician and bought this book as a small reference until i realized it's not what i thought.
I randomly received this book in the mail from my uncle. Now I understand why.

This hilarious book reads like the editorials in "The Onion." Relentless, hysterical satire, and no one is spared; not even the dead.

Definitely not for everyone. But definitely for me.
I expected funny, not crude, crass and disrespectful! I'm at least glad this was a free download, definitely not worth paying for!
A well-designed, excellently executed book that not only makes one laugh during the first reading, but is so jam-packed with photos that one will find new things to laugh at on the 10th or 11th read. I don't know who the geniuses are behind this, as 'David Scott' is not real, but I hope they do more work. I am wondering if Chris Morris might be behind this?

Don't miss Chapter 13 Allah Carte, which is the breakdown of funeral etiquette by religion. Seriously funny!!
Readers should know that this is not a serious funeral etiquette book. That said, it is laugh-out-loud funny. Taking a jab at the taboo subject of death, "Professor" David Scott takes us through the many silly and uncomfortable aspects of the grieving process in a lighthearted and absurd way. Filled with "advice" and step-by-step instructions (with fantastic photographic illustrations), Deadiquette is a great read for those of us with a well-developed sense of humor.

While it's not for everyone, Deadiquette will make a great gift for that friend who likes to make inappropriate jokes, or that weird guy who keeps smiling at you outside the grocery store, or anyone who laughs in the face of death.
I received this as a gift, thought 'what the ****', and dug right in. Sort of a cross between the Onion and Mad Magazine, it is whitty and so absurd that I almost knocked myself off laughing. And that is exactly the point. This sort of takes the sting out of a heavy topic, but may have some unexpected end results. I couldn't shake some of the tongue-in-cheek quips when I attended a wake recently. I was looking at the entire spectacle from the pov of how this would fit into Deadiquette. Not a good thing when you are supposed to be deadly serious or at least respectful. Hard to do when funny things kept popping in my head.
This book is very cleverly written and proves that there is probably something humorous in everything, even death and funerals.
If you're a Daniel Tosh fan you'll love this book. If you aren't a Daniel Tosh fan you'll love it. Do you plan to die, or know someone else who plans to die? Then you need to buy a copy of this book for yourself and one for all your future late friends/relatives.
Of all the funeral etiquette books I have read, this is by far the most recent in addition to being the best children's book of the year.
